Our Mission

Our initiative is to collaborate with the city in securing a grant to address and reduce code violations within our community. We believe that a grant-funded program could effectively address these issues by:

  • Providing Resources: Funding could support essential repairs, such as exterior painting, landscaping, and minor structural improvements.

  • Offering Incentives: Consider incentives for homeowners to address violations proactively, such as reduced fines or waived fees.

  • Increasing Education and Outreach: Programs could educate residents on code requirements and provide guidance on how to comply.

  • Building Partnerships: Collaborate with local contractors, non-profit organizations, and community volunteers to maximize the impact of the program.

  • Without having to have receivership or property management intervene by making unneccessary costly expenses. Property managers may not always be as responsive or efficient as a volunteer board of directors. This can lead to delays in addressing maintenance issues, which can ultimately increase costs due to the need for more expensive emergency repairs.

Apart of that initiative is selling off association-bought apartments can be a complex strategy with potential benefits and drawbacks. Here's a breakdown of potential Benefits:

  • Community Preservation: If the goal is to maintain the existing character of the building and prevent large-scale redevelopment, selling to individual residents can help achieve this.

  • Resident Control: Selling to residents can empower them to have more control over the building's future and how it's managed.

  • Affordable Housing: If the apartments are sold at below-market rates or with affordability restrictions, it can help preserve affordable housing options within the community.

  • No more costly 13 million dollar projected assessments!
